On Friday, we saw the FMB team don their wellies and pick up a sponge for our first charity carwash in aid of The South Lakeland Hydrotherapy Trust.
This was the second fundraising event that we have held for the charity so far and over the year we are aiming to raise a total of £11,520 (the current ISA allowance) to help Sandgate Hydrotherapy Pool buy new pool plant equipment.
The Hydrotherapy Pool is used by many local people from a variety of groups including the elderly, disabled and those recovering from illnesses and operations. We believe it provides a crucial service in the community, although partly funded with public money fundraising ensures the operation and maintenance of the pool.
Obviously the carwash wouldn’t have been a success if we hadn’t had any cars to wash so we would like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who attended - we hope you were happy with your shiny set of wheels!
Also a massive thank you to all of the FMB team for making the day possible – I’m sure they will all agree that although it was a very tiring day and there were plenty of aching muscles over the weekend, it was an extremely rewarding and successful day which is evident in the amount we raised – a staggering £475!!
