Liz Beavis - Managing Director
Liz began her career at FMB in July 1999. Starting out as a Marketing Assistant she worked her way through the company to become appointed as Director of Marketing in January 2008 and now Managing Director, as well as being a fully qualified adviser.

Before FMB she worked at the Chamber of Commerce Training Division in Lancaster, promoting their services to the wider community. As the daughter of one of the two founders, Leslie Beavis, FMB has always been an important part of her life as the business has grown from a desk in the family living room to occupying the prominent Shenstone House on the outskirts of Kendal, with over 40 employees.

Gill Forrester - Director of Operations & HR
Gill has worked at FMB since May 1990. She had undertaken a number of key roles before becoming Office Manager in 2003 and was appointed a Director in 2006. Gill has also gained many qualifications over the years including FPC 1, 2 and 3 and the advanced qualification H15, Supervision and Sales Management which assisted her in one of her other roles as the Company’s Compliance Officer.

Paul Tuson Cert PFS - Director of Business Development
After leaving school in 1990, Paul took up employment with Standard Life in Preston, which became an 11 year journey progressing from administrative assistant to a role within the technical sales support team.

Having achieved his Full Financial Planning Certificate, he joined Financial Management Bureau in 2001. His primary role was as administration manager for both the Endmoor and Lancaster offices, yet by 2002 was training to be a fully qualified Financial Planner.

In 2004 he was given the role of Business Development Manager, whilst continuing in an advisory capacity albeit on a smaller scale.

Paul became a Director in 2008 and he still deals with a select handful of clients, whilst focusing on developing the business, and the firm’s relationship with professional connections such as Accountants & Solicitors. He also supervises the team of 10 Financial Planners within the practice.

Ruth Power - Director & Company Secretary
Daughter of joint founder Leslie Beavis, Ruth joined FMB in 2007. She enjoyed a successful career in Education including management roles in Primary Schools in Cumbria, London and Leeds. After deciding to come back to the area to start a family it was a natural move to join the family business.

Ruth is currently taking the Financial Planning Certificates and brings her expertise in management to the role of Director and Company Secretary.

Jeremy Fisher Dip PFS - Senior Financial Planner
Jeremy has over 16 years experience in the Financial Services Industry. He joined Financial Management Bureau team as a Financial Consultant in 1996.

Andrew Laisby Cert PFS - Senior Financial Planner
Andrew has over 30 years experience in the Financial Services Industry and holds the full Financial Planning Certificate and an additional qualification in mortgages. In addition, Andrew continues to study for higher qualifications.

Lynne Bates Cert PFS - Financial Planner
Lynne has over 20 years industry experience joing Financial Management Bureau in 1994. After undertaking a number of roles she became specialist pensions consultant in 1998.

Lisa Walmsley BA (Hons) - Financial Planner
Lisa began her Financial Services career with Norwich Union in 1999, where she attained the full Financial Planning Certificate, and passed the CeMap Mortgage Examination. She joined Financial Management Bureau Ltd in 2002 and has since passed a higher qualification in Trust planning and Savings and Investments.

Louise Smith Dip PFS - Financial Planner
Louise started her career at Scottish Provident in 1997, where she gained the full Financial Planning certificate. Since joining Financial Management Bureau in 2001, Louise has passed examinations which include, Cemap, the Investment Management Certificate and a higher qualification in taxation.

Chris Hill Cert PFS - Financial Planner
Chris began his financial career at Scottish Provident in 1999 where he obtained the Financial Planning Certificate. He joined FMB in March 2004 and has since obtained higher qualifications in Mortgages, Equity Release, Savings & Investments and Long Term care.

Mike Ferrington LLB - Financial Planner
Mike has worked at FMB since February 2005. He previously worked in the civil service after graduating from Lancaster University with a degree in law.

Louise Whiteley Cert PFS - Financial Planner
Louise started her career in Financial Services at Scottish Provident in 1998, where she gained one of the Financial Planning exams. Having joined FMB in July 2002, Louise passed the remaining exams and achieved the full Financial Planning Certificate.

Phil Williams BA (Hons) - Financial Planner
Phil joined Financial Management Bureau in 2006, after completing a degree in Business Studies at the University of Leeds. He initially attained the full financial planning qualification in 2007. Since this date he has completed qualifications in Mortgages, Equity Release and Long Term Care Insurance, as well as higher qualifications in Investments and Market Principles and Personal Taxation. After the completion of his last exam Phil attained his ‘Diploma in Financial Planning’. He has the ultimate goal of achieving ‘Chartered Financial Planner’ status within the next two years.
