Collaborating with Kendal Mountain Rescue has involved fundraising efforts as well as learning about the nature of their work and the challenges they face.

We have been able to give time to clear up the base and wash and clean vehicles twice this year – we are helping again next week as they prepare to be one of the bases for Kendal Mountain Festival on 20th to 23rd November.

Our team walked the 23-mile Settle Saunter, our clients donated for our Glorious Glenridding event, we also had a car wash and gin tasting evening all of which together raised £2000.

October was our final push with a country music themed event held at Ibis club in Kendal. Our country music themed Hoedown also raised a further £2000 bringing us to our total of £4000.

We had an amazing raffle supported by local businesses such as Temple Heelis, Lakes Sandwiches, Trybooking, Castle Green Hotel, Merewood Hotel, Silva, EWGA Wines, Herdy and so many more.

It was great to see members of staff, friends of FMB from local business and local line dancing clubs join us to dress up and hear some classic country and more modern floor fillers from Chorley act Gravel and Gunn. Money was also raised with country fair themed games, panning for gold, bull horn hoopla and giddy up horsey bran tub.

Thanks to the FMB staff who planned and prepared for the event and made sure everyone had a great night.
