Join us for our professionally guided walk and enjoy the hidden valleys to the west of Ullswater. Grisedale Valley is famously where Wordsworth said his last farewell to his brother in 1800, and Glenridding home to the Greenside Lead Mines.
Start your day at 9.30 leaving Glenridding, along the shores of Ullswater, before heading up and into the Grisedale Valley. Find yourself surrounded by mountains; St Sunday Crag, Dollywagon Pike & Striding Edge will be towering above you. We will make time for a short stop for cake to admire the view midmorning, before heading over into the Glenridding Valley to learn of Greenside Lead Mines.
Our hike will be between 9km and 12km weather dependent, with a minimum of 250m ascent (not in one go, but over the duration of the hike!). The route will be on a typical Lakeland trail, nothing technical, but not a totally flat path. Please be assured that our guides will be there on hand if you need any assistance. There will be the option to peel off a little early for some hikers. We will all meet at the Inn for lunch at 1pm.
We have done similar events in the past and they are always hugely enjoyable. You will be guided by a team of qualified and local guides from Hiking Highs, founder Nicky Merrett will be heading up the team once again and is a former employee and 'friend of FMB Ltd'.
Our client events are free, however you may have seen we are fundraising for Mountain Rescue so we are asking for donations if you feel able.

Once you have booked, we will send a link to a health questionnaire from Hiking Highs our guides. This is confidential between you and Nicky and to meet her health and safety and insurance requirements.
